the 11:00 service is the more contemporary one of the two, but even that isn’t a good picture. If you had to describe the service and it’s structure you would see a few things that are very different from the 1st service. Where the 8:30 service has hymns sung to the piano and the organ, the 11:00 service has a praise band and team that plays both hymns and worship choruses. Another difference you would see is in the order of worship. The big difference there is that there is more music (5 songs versus 3 at 8:30) and just before the sermon is a "set" of songs to prepare us for hearing the Word proclaimed and our response.
