We started our 2nd week of training and we had some new faces show up! Once again we had 20 runners or walkers. This week we ran a mile again and worked on pacing ourselves a little more. There were some kids that improved there times from one minute to two minutes from last week. Jake Eddy improved the most by almost 4 minutes! Way to go Jake! After running a mile the kids took a break and we had a devotion. Since over half of the kids knew there memory verse from last week Ryan ran a lap backwards around the track and everyone else ran an extra lap! Great job kids keep up the hard work. This weeks memory verse is I Timothy 4:7-8
June 10th
This week we had 18 future track athletes who came to better themselves and took one step closer to running the 2 mile run. We did some interval running where we ran for 30 seconds at about 70% of our ability and then we jogged or walked fast for 30 seconds. We did this for one mile. Many of the runnners improved there times again. Ally, Josh, Abie, and Grace all ran under a 10 minute mile which Josh ran 4:50 faster than last week. Way to go Josh! Our memory verse for this week is 2 Timothy 2:5.

This was the first week it was really hot and humid but the kids and adults hung in there and we ran and jogged for 30 second off and on for a mile again. Once again we did our Indian run at the end and the adults even joined in and formed a team. Next memory verse is 1 Corinthians 9:24.

Tonight we hit the road we started on the track and made a quick exit out of the Stadium up to the road and made a loop back to the stadium for a one mile run on the road! We then hit the bleachers and did some steps. The kids actually enjoyed the steps. We will see how long that lasts!
July 8th
Tina lead the group tonight in a fast paced 4 lap run around the track! After taking a short water break they hit the steps again and then finished out with a devotion.
July 15th
Tonight was a hot muggy night and it was a tough run because tonight we did our one mile loop out on the road but then we also came in and ran 2 laps on the track to make it 1 1/2 miles! Once again we ran some steps after a break and then we had a devotion on eating right, exercising, and getting plenty of sleep to keep us healthy as we get older!
July 22nd
Our first run with some rain and it was quite refreshing compared to last week. It didnt rain to hard just enough to cool us down. First off a photographer met us at the stadium to take our picture for an article that will be in the Parkersburg News on Sunday. After that he took some action shots of the kids running. Tonight we did 1 3/4 miles 1 lap around the track then onto our 1 mile loop we have been running on the road and then 2 more laps around the track. 17 brave souls finished in the drizzle! Our devotion talked about giving back to God some of our money and we talked some more about why we were raising the money for the kids in Bolivia! 4 weeks till the race!
